I have been a lifetime resident of Washington County. I am a family man and have been married to my wife, Kathryn, for thirty-one years. We have two wonderful adult daughters. We enjoy boating, mountain biking, and snowboarding in beautiful southern Utah.

I have been a member of the Republican Party since the age of eighteen. I value the party’s beliefs andI feel like now, more than ever, our united voices need to be heard. I have served in local law enforcement for thirty years, with the last twenty-seven years at the Washington County Sheriff ’s Office. As the sheriff, I supervise over two-hundred and six employees. I have significant experience with common constitutional issues. Specifically, our First Amendment freedom of speech and religious freedoms, our Second Amendment right to bear arms, our Fourth Amendment dealing with search and seizure, and our Fifth Amendment right to due process and self incrimination. I am a strong supporter of limited government and valuing the rights and freedoms of U.S. citizens. Several years ago, I worked with Utah House Representative Walt Brooks in support of a new Bill to allow law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons without a Concealed Carry Weapons permit.

During my law enforcement career, I have repeatedly sworn an oath to support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of Utah. I will only support candidates for office that fight for our fundamental rights, small government, and our conservative values.

As the sheriff and a citizen of our county, I have participated in Leadership Dixie and have served as a member of the Washington County Fair Board. I have volunteered for the Ironman, the Hunstman World Senior Games, the St. George Marathon and many more community events. I have also presented and trained law enforcement topics to both church and community groups which include Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, young men and women groups, and the Washington County Republican Women. I served for four years on the State Central Committee and have been a State and County Delegate for years. 

As a member of the Republican Party and a Washington County resident, I ask you for your support and vote to be re-elected as your sheriff. I look forward to continuing my service for our community.
